When I told my friends that I was taking crochet classes, I got a lot of stick but what the hell do they know haha. I've seen so many amazing patterns, I was really eager to give it a go.
Libby @ Hook & Home holds a 6 week course in Southend-On-Sea, dress code slippers, HELL YEAH!! She supplies everything you need within the class cost £40.00, including some unexpected extras. She has put together a number of classes and designed different projects that incorporate a lot of the basic stitches to get you started. Following beginner classes she has a crochet night where she offers kits or you can bring your own project with her on hand to help out.
On my course I made a cushion cover, I thought I'd struggle but thanks to Libby and her patience of a saint, I've cracked it! She was fantastic at explaining all the techniques and really made sure that it sunk in. She gave lots of personal tips, including great colour chart ideas and wool samples, she really is a crochet guru.
I didn't realise I'd enjoy it this much, I even cried off a few evenings out to stay in and crochet, which I haven't admitted until now!
I'm so proud of my end product, it's taken center place on my sofa and people are getting bored of hearing "I made that", it's got a few quirky flaws but haven't we all?!
Oh did I mention I made this?
I'll be getting my name on the waiting list for further classes, I'm totally hooked (no pun intended) and I can't wait to start my next project. Check out Hook & Homes page on facebook. hhtps://m.facebook.com/HookHome
These are a few patterns I have my eye on next, I can't help but notice they're all pretty small haha, I figure with little spare time on my hands it's a bit more realistic.
These are my aim towards, I'll make them when I retire early with my hunk of a husband, living in our house on the hill, where time is never an issue....... please and amen to that!!
This post is dedicated to my friends, CROCHET IS COOL.......oh and I'm sorry I blew you out for a cushion ha,ha.
