DIY Dreamcatcher

DIY Dreamcatcher

My Son Jack was randomly complaining he has nightmares, not that he's been waking up or getting upset often? Funnily enough he then claimed it's because he hasn't got a dreamcatcher in his room like his older sister Darcey. I explained he only had to ask if he wanted one and seeing as we were going to the woods, maybe we could collect some things and make one....so that's what we did!!

We collected twigs and leaves from the woods and a few extra supplies from around the house, a doily from my ever growing collection (I will eventually use them in some major craft), string and some beads that I'd kept from a broken necklace.

It was really pretty simple, we made the frame to the size of the doily and tied it together with the string. The kids then fed the string through the holes of the doily and around our twig frame, Jack lasted a good 60 seconds before claiming he had to check on his toys. Darcey however loved this part of the project, we then hung pieces of string to the bottom added some beads and our alternative choice for the feathers, pre washed and dried leaves. Added a few more beads here and there and Bobs your Uncle a handmade dreamcatcher...... and funnily enough Jack hasn't mentioned anything about nightmares since!!
